General License Classes Start September 14

Yes, it’s back to school (already) for some!

SARA will again conduct a fall General Class licensing course beginning in just a few days. Technician level hams looking to expand their HF operating capability are invited to join us for eight instructor-led sessions.

The classes are FREE and designed to help at-tendees successfully pass the General exam. (And, it’s a great, way for any ham to brush-up on basic theory!!)

Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, switching between the Lake Elmo and Oakdale Public Libraries
(Note: Classes will not be held at the Stillwater Library this fall.)

Although we encourage attendees to come to all class sessions, a combination of classroom and self-study has been successful for many.
An ARRL sponsored VE testing session will be held November 9.

Do you know anyone interested in upgrading to General? According to Bob Jensen (WØGAF), SARA Education and Training Director, “If you’ve been yearning to get on HF, fall is a great time to upgrade your license. Summer sports are over. The kids are back in school. And the sun is setting earlier. What better time to study?

“Studying with a cohort of fellow hams and learning from our experi-enced team of instructors, can be a great way to get that General ticket.”
