SARA’s Spring Foxhunt April 23rd CANCELLED

DUE TO UNFORESEEN EVENTS, THE FOXHUNT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE.

As a follow up to his presentation on Foxhunting during the April 9th meeting of SARA, Dan WDØGUP has offered to stage a Foxhunt on Saturday April 23rd. The Foxhunt will be held at Autumn Hills Park 5701 Norwich Parkway beginning at 9:00 AM, rain or shine. Autumn Hills Park is just west of Boutwells Landing.

This Foxhunt is planned to introduce people to the challenge of Foxhunting, (T-Hunt, ARDF, hidden transmitter hunt). All you need is a 2-meter handheld transceiver and your body and you can join in the fun. Dan will have several hand-held directional antennas available for use. These antennas have BNC connectors, so be sure to have the appropriate adapter for your antenna mount to BNC. Dan has several “Foxes” that he could deploy in the area and it promises a little challenging as you search for the hidden transmitter.

This is a great activity for young and old, licensed or non-licensed. Bring the kids, or bring a friend and come on out April 23 to give Foxhunting a try.
