Spring Technician Class wraps up with successful VE Session!

SARA’s Spring Technician License Class has wrapped up classes and a successful VE Exam session on April 25th. 8 of the class participants passed their technician license exam. VE Team leader Shel NØDRX reports that the team administered exams to 13 examinees. A total of 10 passed the Technician exam and one upgraded to Amateur Extra. Congratulations to all who passed the exams at this session. A big well done to Mark KEØUKS on your upgrade to Amateur Extra – from no license to Extra in less than 3 months!

SARA’s Training & Education Coordinator Bob WØGAF congratulates the instructor staff for their work, overcoming room availability issues, new study book complications, and weather cancellations of the Skywarn session and one class session.

As part of our New Ham Resource and Outreach initiative, SARA will be conducting two events in May designed to welcome the newly licensed or returning Ham and help them begin their exploration of Amateur Radio. The May 11th meeting of the Association will feature the group discussion “Why Ham Radio? – Then & Now” This program will allow everyone to share their Ham Radio story while introducing New Hams to the wide variety of activities in this hobby. New Ham Night returns on Thursday May 16th at Valley View Park in Oak Park Heights. This event will guide the New Hams as they get the chance to see some and operate some radio gear and learn how to choose a radio, work on repeaters, work simplex, and explore what the hobby offers.
